ok, don't all wet yourself laughing if this is a REALLY obviously stooopid question...

we're picking up the shettie on monday. due to being total paupers, we're not getting his tack with him (for an extra 300quid we could have had his show bridle and saddle... waaaay out of budget). so... i'm on the hunt for a shetland saddle and bridle. i have my eye on one of the thorowgood cub saddle things after recommendations on here... but now need a bridle. he's going to be ridden by my 2yr old, but maybe also shown in hand by my 12yr old...

can he be ridden in an inhand bridle?!?! is there a real difference?

An inhand bridle does not have as much adjustment as a riding bridle, the noseband height being fixed.
You could get a plain leather riding bridle to fit use for riding and in hand too or just change reins to a coupling on a leather lead rein for in hand. Or show an M&M in hand in a halter.
