Apologies if this seems incredibly obvious....
Its horrible weather here today - rain and strong wind. I headed up to the yard at lunchtime to bring in the Old Nag, dry her off and get her rug on her. She lives out 24/7 with a mixed group, but mainly geldings. Anyway, the wind had them all riled up and I simply couldn't catch her (unusual for her, normally she come right over). As I'm 9 months pregnant and not fast on my feet these days I must admit I gave up pretty quick when I realised how the herd where behaving like loons, but then my girl did an odd thing. She stepped away from the group (and me) put her head low and weaved a little bit while doing for all the world what looked like a half pass. She then went back to hanging with her favourite gelding and running away from me
. I've never seen her do this before - is it a dominant thing, an annoyed thing or just a 'I'm-on-heat-and-its-really-windy-therefore-I'm-a-loon' thing?
