Since returning to horses, for a few years we were at livery and always used YO box if we needed to which always had shavings on the floor.

Now we’ve moved and ‘going it alone’, we’ve got a trailer which we picked new horse up in but it was only 10 mins down the road and I never put anything down cos it’s got rubber flooring and it was a short journey.

We’ve got to take him to horsepital tomorrow for X-rays which is about 20 – 30 mins away, would you put shavings down or not

Thank you

Although my horses never pee in the lorry I always put soem shavings down. I find it easier to remove the poo, it stops it sticking to the floor & keeps things cleaner.

I always have a full covering of shavings. Mine will go all day tied up outside on grass at a show and wait until she's back in her trailer to pee!

It is genuinely the first thing she'll do once the ramp goes up!

I just think it's nicer for her to stand on the shavings and have them there to soak up the wee.
