Numpty Question about a chin cut

As title says really Faith has a small cut on her chin, now I only noticed it as I was coming out of the field, its about half a inch long and is the width of a pin. Now shes had bumps,cuts and bruises before which she has gotten over and for some reason this one bothers me, I think its just because its on her face.

Now previously I have used Savalon on small cuts etc, which have healed up nicely. I put some on the night I first saw this cut, but after that Faith fell out with me, for putting cream on her face. Its weeping/has been weeping, now I'll still be using savalon and cleaning it with water. Shes still eating and drinking and has being tear ar*ing round the field like usual.

Am I just panicing over nothing?

I'd persevere with the Savlon or any thick antiseptic cream. It will keep the flies off and leave the wound site moist to aid healing. If it's stopped bleeding and looks quite clean, don't be tempted to hose it or vigorously rub it or you could interrupt the healing process. Just give it a gentle swab with eg dilute Hibiscrub and pat dry before slapping on new Savlon. You might try a veterinary gel or you can get Aloe Vera wound gel too and that might be more soothing. If ned isn't speaking to you, tough, it still needs to be applied or she could find herself having the vet out to put a couple of stitches in and I bet she wouldn't like that either!!!!
