My horse is recently 6 and a retired racer, real fabulous all rounder but has typical ex racer stiff back, I have done the stretches recommend by my osteopath and they are working lovely she no longer gets sore and her stiffness is really going, my osteopath said for a bit of extra help I could use a muscle supplement, she recommended nupafeed flex as it's what she uses but said there are others out there, what others are there and what would be recommended? I would prefer natural remedies if possible, she has sunflower oil and tumric in her food and its helping her suppleness, anything else I can use?

TLDR: what can help flexibility besides nupafeed and is nupafeed any good?

I use Maxaflex which is also green lipped mussel exact based. But rather than Nupafeed' s selenium and magnesium additions, Maxaflex has MSM and Glucosamine. Both Feedmark and NAF also do mobility products based on Green lipped mussel extract.

I suspect we just go with what we know. I started on Maxaflex because a trainer recommended it. It works for my lad so I stick with it. Is it better than any of the others? I don't know. I'm not sure there is a way to know. For what its worth - they all come with other stuff added. Read the ingredients list and find one which doesn't double up on what you are already giving as that is at best a waste of money and at worst potentially poisonous to the horse.
