What kind of nutrients are grass kept horses likely to lack? Are their any supplement on the market that cater for the needs of a grass-kept horse? Or a balancer?

Either a bog-standard vit/min supplement or a bucket lick, although these contain molasses and your horse tends to get a mucky nose!

I think the trick with Paddock Bucket is that it is not mollased

My horse is on equibites, she has 5-10 per day just fed by hand. She has no other hard feed and not even hay at the moment as we have so much grass (I feel mean but his is what the feed companies advised!). What has surprised me is how good she lookes on them. Her coat is really shiny and her hooves look good even tho she is barefoot, and everyone keeps asking me what I feed her as she looks so well!

Thank you TGM. I would prefer to supplement his grazing with hay - but as the field is shared, everyone would have to be putting hay out - which doesn't seem the norm TBH.

Mine all live out 24/7. They get a high spec vit & min supplement which is locally made for our areas deficiency. Ask around as someone near you may have done the same. I feed all mine anyway, always have even the retired ones not in work mainly so I can give them their supps. I dont like the licks as they destroy the mollasses based ones within days but then ignore the non-molasses ones!

Not sure what you mean about hay... why cant you give hay to them?! Its winter, I dont know anyone who doesnt give hay in winter as the nutrients in the grass are really crap! They need the forage.
