Hi All,
Looking for some advice, I have just finished a BSC(hons) degree in health exercise and nutrition. I achieved a 2:1 and am now looking to further my career. I have worked with horses for several years and produce show horses and competition horses for various people. So my question is this, do I stick with human nutrition despite there not seeming to be many jobs in this area, or do I top up with an equine nutrition course? is there a need? I work as a promo girl at the moment so debating working for a feed company and going from there, if I can find a position of course!! does anyone know of any post grad courses or distance learning? any advice appreciated!! :-)

Most of the Equine Masters courses have some nutrition content. Aberystwyth does, and you certainly used to be able to do it as a standalone if you don't do the full masters. Obviously cost and time considerations.

TOCES does a professional diploma in equine nutrition (homestudy) which I considered, but not sure how well that would be recognised 'professionally'.

Most of the equine nutritionists I've spoken to have general equine science undergrad degrees only.

ETA just checked, Aber still does the equine nutrition PGCert http://www.findamasters.com/search/masters-degree.aspx?course=28668

Where abouts are you? I work for a supplements company and we have nutritional advisors, but we just do phone consultations :-) Let us know where you are, we might be able to help find a stop gap job in nutrition, whilst you top up in equine nutrition :-)

hi, im in Newport south wales, I wok at the david broome event centre if that helps pinpoint my location! I'm trying to talk to various feed companies about becoming a feed rep as I am well used to promotions work so think i'd be good at it. id like to do the Aberystwyth course, and am thinking about doing my AI aswell as ive got stage 2 already. I just don't really want to go into NHS work to be honest, I didn't enjoy the health side of things of my course I find it a bit tedious. Sports nutrition was much more my kind of thing! again any help much appreciated xx

Try delacey executive recruitment company, they generally have a fair few nutritional type positions going
