I have a one year old patterdale terrier bitch. She loves eating just not her own food!! She is very active and full of energy all the time, and gets plenty of exercise, comes to the yard, gets walked, out for runs etc etc - and is a very happy dog. But she is on the skinny side, and she is really not that in to her food - the only time she has really enjoyed her food is when she was on the chicken and rice recovery diet after being speyed!!! At the moment she is eating JWB adult dry food - but I am worried that she is not getting enough out of it as she does look skinny!
Has anyone got any suggestions? Should I change her on to wet food, or a mixture of the both? What other brands would be suitable? Sorry for the questions!!!!

Although I think the smell of it is horrible, dogs seem to enjoy Butcher's Tripe and they do several different flavours now. You could combine that with a terrier meal or you could continue with what you're using and just add household scraps to it. Most dogs love grated cheese too.

I have a skinny lab - he's soooo fussy!! We've currently got 8 different dog feeds at home which we alternate and mix differently each night. He ate best when he was on Natures Choice wet meat with mixer and a little natural yoghurt mixed in - unfortunately because of him tummy probs we can't keep him on wet meat for very long.

I have a very fussy lurcher who came to us a little skinny. He was used to eating own brand wet food but he's only young and i wasn't impressed with the ingredients. I tried him on burns (which our other dog had) and he wasn't keen. Then tried nature diet which he liked for about a week and then refused to eat again. I then introduced james wellbeloved and so far he's been eating it straight away (about 3 weeks so far). I also sometimes use a little natural yoghurt and he loves it. xxx

some dry foods you can put in the micorwave for about 30 secs which brings out the natural meat flavour and is suppose to appeal to them more
