Hi there, I have a 6 month old pointer cross pup, when I got him he was on Beta puppy, he had major wind issues!!! and his stools were loose. I've moved him onto Wafcol and have to say I am very happy with the result, his stools are alot better and his wind has eased up and although still a little smelly, nothing like the level before plus less frequent. My point is that I'm paying loads for this food but at the same time he goes to the yard and is into everything, horse poo, horse food left open etc (livery yard so not in control of everything there)! So I'm thinking am I actually throwing money away here!! Any thoughts??

I found this firm, the ingredients etc look good, hypoallergenic etc and a really good price, would you say it's any good? http://www.petfoodsupplies.org/page/hypo_allergenic_wheat_gluten_free_dog_foods they also do a low GI puppy/junior diet.

The other thing is that my old lab x suffered growth problems at around the age my pup is now, she was on hills science at the time and the vet told me to put her on chappie (low protein etc) to combat it. So I'm looking at the protein content of all the puppy foods (another reason why I liked Wafcol) so as not to use one that is very high.

I don't like the BS on the site (a lot of buzz words & few facts) and would want a full list of ingredients.

At six months 21/24% protein is plenty so an active adult food is fine.

Which wafcol are you using?

Wafcol salmon is pretty good but if horse food doesn't cause any upsets you could mix the wafcol 50:50 with Skinners duck & rice or Salmon & ricefor the next few months and then drop to just Skinners. A decent food that is half the price.
