I have a brown EXPENSIVE leather sofa and my 5 yr old has just bitten and burst one of those glow sticks (neon things) sod the childs health, shes put it on the sofa and it's taken a line of leather off, like literaly melted it, not is about a cm long and about 5 mm wide.. what does one do????????????????????

Firstly, you seem to have taken the news quite well:D

Not sure how severe the "melting" is, i.e. if the leather has totally disappeared then the colouring in sounds a good idea.

However, we had a similar incident where my 87 year old Gran - who still insists on a can of hairspray a day - looked to have done the same to the back of my brown leather sofa. I used saddle soap and after many attempts and slow progress what appeared to be the melting gradually loosened and the revealed the leather. Then whacked on a bit of leather cream.
Now, it is not back to normal - texture is different as the top layer has gone -but it at least looks fine from a distance and is usable. Good luck.

you call not worrying about my daughters health as taking it well hahahaha

It looked to have taken the colour out and looks like a scratch, if you imagine what a dogs toenail would do to it??
