Another thrilling adventure from me!!
Yesterday we headed off to Oasby for the 90, new venue for us and guess what.... i didnt get lost! haha
Our dressage isn't amazing atm, think both of us need a break, its been a hard season and he's just not up for learning new shiz atm so we just deal with what it is on the day.
I tried a new tactic of riding him on a longer rein thus in a lower outline this really did help to keep him relaxed and not so tense so we are on the right track but its not going to happen overnight! Still its an improvement from LD by .7! haha ended up with a 38.5 leaving us 9th after dressage.
The sj was very hap hazard, he really made me ride for it, he wasnt in a very forgiving or helpful mood, just the one down though, hes very nifty at getting his feet out of the way when he needs to! Lots to work over winter again
I was flying solo too which i dont think helped much, my warmup was rubbish and my head wasnt quite in the game to begin with, sorted that out by fence 2 though!
Onto xc, it was beefy! Big hedges at 2 and 3 with a decent log drop at 5, abc combo at the water followed by a corner and some decent tables.... 3, 2, 1 and we were out the start box...... big hedges??? Nope apparently they werent that big!! Decent log drop?? Nope hopped off that too! ABC at the water popped through that very nicely, corner with a big squirrel on it.... no bother... there's a theme running here... he just flew round and made mincemeat of the lot 😍 we did pick up 1.6 time.... I steadied too much downhill to 10 should of let him run!! He felt awesome though!! ⭐️
Sadly the pole and the time faults were rather costly and dropped us from 9th to 16th! But that just shows how competitive it is! Need to nail the dressage over winter to hold those top 10 places! Still cant believe the season we have had, he still amazes me every time I take him out 😍 one run left for 2017 at Norton Disney next weekend cant really believe its almost over!!
Some pics of the boy doing his thing!!
