A big thanks to the poster who recommended oats on one of the poor doer threads.
I'd tried barley rings for 2 months - no change
charnwood linseed - 20kg sack in 6 weeks - no change and he didn't like eating often left it
Been building up oats for 4 days now and I've just been to feed him lunch and he scrapped at the door as I was making the feed up!!!
He's not done that all winter - so happy at least if he likes it I can get a fair bit in and hopefully it'll tide him over until the grass comes.
He's having all of the above with sugar beet and Alfa A oil and extra veg oil - three times a day.
14 hh companion that was previously v good doer but this winter hasn't done well at all - Oh and has a tooth issue so doesn't eat much hay/ haylage/ soaked hay or chopped up hay (tried all in vain!)
