Oats which type to feed?

I used crushed to maximise digestibility, but oats are one of the few cereals that has high digestibility in the small intestine whether processed or whole, therefore it's not critical to process them.

I feed my laid back cob bruised oats to perk him up a bit in the summer along with endurance and competition mix, he isn't fizzy at all (hence why we have to feed him so much). Hope this helps :)

Oats are oats - at one time it was believed that back oats were the best but scientific research found that they are all the same - just pricier because of the colour!

Whole or crushed it doesn't really matter.

The crushed form start to lose their vitamins within a week so if you are only feeding a small amount then whole is best - you can also pour boiling water on them to soften the husks, allow to cool before feeding.

Whole soaked work barefoot and sensitive too.
The link posted already will explain it well.
