As far as I am aware a 'bursa' is a joint capsule that is filled with fluid and 'bursitis' is inflamation of the Bursa.

The term occipital refers to the area at the base of the skull where the occipital bone is.

Presume they will atempt to drain off the excess fluid?

Probably not much help!
