I'm off to Pets at Home in a bit to look for things to keep his highness happy on his own.

On my list I have:

A kong
Peanut Butter

erm, what else can I bribe the little sod with? :-)

I want him to have 'toys' that he only gets when he's on his own as a reward for being on his own - I guess the kong is one of those things.

The only thing I would leave with Otto when he is alone is a Kong or one of their other similar products. Too much risk of him eating it and choking etc! They do lots of things they can be stuffed with treats etc, so maybe get a couple.

If you google Kong filling ideas, you will get a whole host of ideas. I usually fill it with grated cheese, stick it in the microwave for a few seconds do it melts into all the nooks and then freeze it.
Don't bother with the Kong Stuffing products you can buy, bloody expensive and they upset Otto's tummy.

Yep - as SU says, get a crate! Get an extra tough Kong rather than a normal one (they are black rather than the usual red) as Henry has not destroyed his, making it unique among all his toys.

Get him his Man Cave, you can get the assistants to let you try them all out to get the right size one, and then you just need a big squishy bed to go in it, and a cosy blanket of some kind to cover it over (thus creating the Man Cave effect :D)

When I stuff Henry's kong, I generally use whatever nice biscuits I have, a bit of kibble, and bits of cheese or chicken etc, then stuff loads of peanut butter in all the gaps and smear it all over the outside:D I then give it to him and watch a small blue roan streak of lightening vanish into the Man Cave:D

hahaha - i'm going to have fun with the kong I can tell!

Re. the crate, that may be difficult as my new lodger may not crate her dog.....but we'll deal with that at the weekend....

I second the steat clear of the horrible sh!te they sell to go in the kong esp the peanut butter, you far rather stuff it yourself with stuff already suggested, I usually use the dogs own kibble mixed up with tuna or sardines then freeze or not depending it I remember, un coocked bones from the butcher and those bones that have marrow in them, but I would switch from day to day and stick to atleast 3 items, dont leave all 3 down all the time, he will only get bored, have a treat box and swap and change, he may become loose at first with his motions, it should subside after a few days of getting them in his system, pigs ears are yummy for them, but dont last long for adult dogs:D
