Just wondering if anyone has had a horse go through this surgery and how much it cost? Were the results worth it?

Yes, my horse had it last year. Very, very worth it
. They use an arthroscope to see inside the joint and then flush away the chip(s).
All in it came to just under £2k. He was in the clinic for around 5 days, and when he came home the vet had to come out every 2 days for a fortnight to change dressings as it was a tricky location.
Six weeks after surgery he had that hock injected, and a fortnight after that started ridden work. However, once he had the all clear I turned him away for a few months, otherwise he would have been back in full work quite quickly. Anyway, horse is now 100% and I am so glad i had the surgery done (thank god for insurance). Oh, he also had IRAP, but I'm not sure if that did anything or not.
