can someone tell me a little more about OCD in hocks please. i posted a photo of my lad in the summer and someone mentioned they thought he might have it, he is having issues with his hocks but he diagnosed with arthritis in both over a year ago but nothing more than they would expect for his age. and it has never caused him issues before now. any thoughts?

It sounds as if your boy is an older horse if arthritis is expected as his age? In which case if he had OCD and it was going to cause any issues, it more than likely would have done before now. I think I am right in saying this but I am sure others will come and correct me if I am wrong

see i know nothing about it and it was just a comment that kinda stuck with me. tbh if he has and its going to caus him problems it will be the same outcome.

incase this is any help this is the photo i think i posted

I am not really sure how or why anybody might think they could tell he had OCD from a photograph? Even X-Rays cant always diagnose it!

lol well that answers that one. i honestly don't have a clue about it but i was just interested to know. it won't make much odds either way really

That's what I was thinking, how can you make a diagnosis from a photo??

I think you could probably not worry about it tbh. Sounds like if he has arthritic changes that might be the problem. OCD is a developmental/growth thing and if it was going to affect him would probably have made him lame when he was broken in and started to work. Hope that helps!
