Since 1997 a local lady has been working to get a bridle path re opened running from Far Lane in Ocbrook to Potato Pit Lane Dale Abbey/Risley.

The council have eventually decided to act, and there will be two meetings held to evaluate the need for this bridleway. The more people that attend the meetings the more chance that this bridleway will be reopened. Its a matter of 'bums on seats', nobody is expected to speak or make any presentation. It has been suggested that if you can attend try to bring a friend and ask them to bring a friend.

Ockbrook meeting is on the 2nd March at the Parish Hall at 7pm.

Dale Abbey meeting is on 17th March at Dalimore School Kirk Hallam at 7pm

Thanks for reading hope to see some of you, that I know are local to me at the meetings:)

Thank you Mrs M

MJTBT I am just a messenger spreading the word, but will let you know how it goes, cant believe it had taken since 1997 for a meeting to be arranged:D

Can you not get a petition going by visiting local livery yards/stables/riding schools, tack shops, feed stores, local show venues to get as many names and contact details (user evidence would be useful) to help get this bridleway reopened. Also involve the local bridleways group, and riding clubs + BHS support. I'm sure that this would help.
We all need to keep these bridleways open otherwise we will lose them for good.
Good Luck.
