Took his gingership to Ockbrook show today, booked myself in for Handy Pony and Begginers show jumping, never tried the showjumping before, well just loading into the trailer he did a spectacular rear, so he was allready a happy bunny before we set off
.
Anyway, had a go at minimus, oh dear
, bad start, slippy reins and slippy half chaps lost stirrup, not pretty at all, so sorted that and then did better next try, then had a look round the begginers course, jeez trying to find the next jump number did me just walking the course
, anyway fretted away the next hour waiting to go in, rather nervous, again not pretty, crrap rythm and momentum, my riding was awfull, but no refusals and only ran out at the oxy thing, never tried one of those before either, pretty crrap round but at least I had a go and didn't come off
Handy pony, bad start as I dropped the sheep thing and had to get off and on and start again, then all good until the backing into road barrier thing, no he didn't like that, I INSIST, big rear, so left that, did ok the rest of the course.
Caught up with a few old friends and spoke to someone who recognised me from on here which was nice, burger/hot choccy then home.
I can see why I have stuck more to Endurance/pleasure rides, you get there, get your number and gooooooo, waiting around just doesnt suit his lordship at all, he got more and more wound up as basically he hadn't really done much at all compared to bombing round 15 miles or out for a 4 hour ride, so by the time we came to loading to come home he was pretty pissed off and still full of beans, oh yea and grass bless him, if there was a greedy fidgety pony section he would win a medal
Anyway not such a bad day really I suppose
So anyone else on here go, how did you do ???
