My horses live at home and I've noticed if I go out at night lately around 10pm they are racing around like hooligans, last night I was so worried about my cob as he was sweating up and just wasn't interested in eating his grass, does anyone have the same sort of thing I am a bit concerned as always had them at a livery yard so unsure if this is normal behaviour or if I have a problem?? Tonight I have split them up as it seemed like my cob wouldn't let my little pony stop just kept him moving not sure if they were playing enjoying them selves now the sun has gone down, a problem with flies or if they are stressed for some reason? Anyone have any idea?

Standard, its cool have a party antics from my lads. The atmosphere at my yard is that of lads on a holiday in Magaluf. Run round, play and fight all night, soon as sun comes up they retire to their stables and sleep it off. I now have 3 guaranteed to spend the majority of their day asleep when I know they've been hooning round all night!

Great thanks for putting my mind at ease!! Having them at home I thought was going to be brilliant which it is, but I seem to worry about them all the time!! Xx

Yeap pretty standard, you do see so much more when they are at home...it's nice to watch them play and have fun. My lot used to have a mad 30mins in the morning but recently they've swapped to a mad spell in the afternoon. I used to miss all this fun at livery...enjoy! 😉

It could be a combination of cooler air and flies, 2 of mine were sweating up, trotting around visibly uncomfortable and covered in horse flies, fly rugs on, now i know they are just using excess energy after choosing to stand in the barn all day
