Two or three weeks ago I started lungeing my horse on our field, he went over on his near hind at the start, over on his fetlock, stretching his leg out backwards. Now as soon as he did this, I thought the ground was maybe too hard and slippy for lungeing soe I stopped straight away and turned him out.

Next day I hacked him he was fine. Day after that he was not right. He was on and off lame for 1-2 weeks, as in not lame at all in walk, and some days sound in trot, others not, but never really that lame - barely noticeable.

There has never been any lumps/bumps/heat or swelling at any point.

I had the vet out yesterday, who could not find anything after a thorough check of his leg and foot. He was lame in trot, and was worse after a leg flexion test. He is not on bute as I was hoping to get a chiro to see him on monday (in agreement with the vet) to see if its a pull further up his leg.

I am away with work all next week, but am hoping if I can't get an appointment with a chiro to fix him (with my mum present) I will be boxing him to the vets next friday for a lameness work up (nerve blocks etc). I really can't go any earlier :(

Has anyone any experience with anything like this, is it likely to be a ligament pull or something? I have no experience with lameness like this, our have always been foot problems, or obvious knocks etc.

Sorry its so long, white wine and lemon tart for those that made it through :)

Sorry, nothing to say about the horse, but you have just reminded me I have one of those in the fridge!!!
