Hattie has been in season since about mid April time with "winking" and weeing and screeching at the gelding in the next field but for the past couple of days, she's been REALLY clingey with me. I swear, if she was a dog, she'd be in my lap!

On Saturday, she followed me around the field as I poo picked, stopping to graze while I scooped up poo and then following me to the next one. She's also started coming when I call her (whereas before, she'd ignore me and just eat her grass) but today was the strangest!!

I was gathering up my poo picking stuff when my friend Gill, came over from her field into where mine were to chat. Hattie promptly comes over and STANDS IN THE MIDDLE of both of us!

Then we moved again so we could chat in peace and she did it again and then started leaning on me with the side of her rump and shoving Gill away with her shoulder if that makes sense.

Her ears weren't pinned back and her body language wasn't tense or threatening but she did have her tail raised in that silly mare in heat thing that they do. She was being her usually half asleep dopey self but she would not let me and Gill chat in peace! It was crazy!

Anyways, Gill gave up and left and then Hattie walked off.

Anyone else encounter this behaviour before?
