My horse has been into horsepital for a laser op to her throat. When she came out she was put in a paddock that had been sprayed for weeds (farmer says horse friendly). Not sure this is relevant anyway she was put in this small paddock for 2 weeks but a few days after she came out she was making a slight noise. Only when eating. Not sure what it is but its worrying and ive never seen anything like this in a horse before. She has COPD and its quite bad.

Ive got the vet coming out tomorrow. Last night she was like this again after eating grass on the lane to her field. But today fine but making a tiny noise. Its odd this especially as its not on a regular basis.

Any ideas?

If your horse has severe COPD/RAO then the noises she will be making when breathing are almost certainly indicative of her struggle to breathe. COPD/RAO inflicts permanent lung damage on an affected horse so it gets progressively harder and harder for them to breathe adequately. It's the same as with a severely asthmatic human. But you say the horse was recently in hospital for an operation on her throat, but you don't say what and why so it's possible that new symptoms are related to this. I'd urgently contact the vets where the operation was carried out just in case this is linked to the surgery and is a sign of something not quite right.
