Over the last few weeks inky has decided he wont wee in his field. If he is out he either wee's in the field shelter ( which is now resembling the smell of the lads bog

) or he will wait till he comes out of the field and do it in the field we have to pass through to get out to the gate. Any ideas why he may do this????

Nope, but my mare seems to be crossing her legs all night, just so she can pee in her stable, when she comes in in the morning!!!

Wierd really as she is not normally adverse to peeing where ever she happens to be at the time (including main roads

).

I dont think so because he is only out with my gelding and my gelding never bothers with the shelter. There are no other horses around and he's never bothered for the last 10 months?? I would have thought he would have done it outside, not somewhere they never go!! LOL!! He doesnt seem to mark his teritory with poo etc, not that ive seen.

I've no idea why he would do this, but one of our mares started doing this on the way to her field in the morning.
Anyway we have used it to our advantage as she now goes for a wee in the morning outside of her box and in the field before she goes in. If she has been in all day for some reason we can even take her out in the afternoon for one!

Why not start training him, we tell her to "wee" and she does!!

Magic, no more wee in the stable!!! Cant get the others to catch on with this though

One of our other mares likes to go in private!!

PS be careful that they don't kill the grass going in the same place every day!!

through the winter abby would always do a pee everytime she came into her stable, first thing she did. not just a wee pee either a big old smelly pee. i think she thought it might freeze if she did it outside, or was maybe embarresed

Fabby tip for getting rid of wee smells is a cup of soap power in hot water. Chuck that in your field shelter and hey presto wee smell gone!
