oedema on cheeks

My boy had swollen cheeks yesterday, you could actually see the imprint from his headcollar. He does get grass glands/hamster pouches (partoid gland swelling) when the conditions are right. I have seen his cheeks swell in the spring before but not so late in the year.

I assume this is where we have had a grass flush with lots of rain and mild temperatures. Unless anyone has a more sinister view...

Hmmmmmm mines looked like a hamster for a couple of days now (so have a couple of others on the yard - we assumed it was the grass).

Used to happen to a pony at my yard every now and then after he had been out... he just stayed in for a bit and they'd always go down in a day or so
