off his food

Our horse has been off his food for weeks now, and started not drinking his water as well.He will not touch his hard food (feed & suppliments etc) tried different types of hay ,haylege, straw etc but only picks very very little of it.
Had dentist out everything ok, had four different vets out ,blood tests done nothing to worry about, temperature was up but has been normal for a week now.He is normaly a lively lad even though he is 23 but now just stands at the back of his stable. His poo is like water and has been for weeks, various vets have tried different medicines but none seem to have done much ,if anything at all to help.At the moment he is on pink powder to try and settle his stomach.
Long shot but any ideas ?

Has anyone mentioned Chronic Grass Sickness? My boy had this a few years ago, ate nothing at all for about three weeks, was on a drip at the vets as he wouldn't drink. He was very obviously poorly as well though, high heart rate, patchy sweating, tucked up 'elephant on a tub' stance, droopy eyes. Does your chap have any of these? A lot of vets have never heard of Grass Sickness and wouldn't know a case if they saw one.
 
Thank you ,, i was reading about that but dont think thats it,he is bright eyed but has been like it for a few weeks now, i think if it was i think we would of lost him by now same as colic if not walked around and kept up. Thank you though.

If he's looking at his sides then he's in pain, not puzzled. Sounds like low grade colic or gastric ulcers. Is he on any pain relief? Sorry, but he is really suffering by the sound of it. He could have cancerous growths inside him that are partially blocking his intestines. I think you need to get him referred to a specialist equine hospital ASAP. Is he insured for vet fees?

This sounds a bit familiar to me :( Check out the thread I wrote last May/June titled 'Can I cry pls' Also check out my thread relating to feed companies who provide samples of high calorie feeds, and also, to help him feel better and improve his appetitie look up Haemavite B plus as a blood tonic. Get a referral to an Equine Hospital. Ensure he is very well rugged to conserve what calories he has. It was believed that my girl had Malabsorption syndrome, most likely related to some form of cancer, but before that we did test for a whole range of other possible and morelikely issues. If your horse won't eat the blood tonic, syringe it in. It should stimulate appetitie.
