Going to see my little man tomorrow after work cant wait!

Only about 2 weeks and he will be with us yey!

Anyone have any tips on puppies as it was over 9 years ago we had a puppy in the house.

Advice
A crate, a teddy bear sibling minus eyes and nose, a lovely cuddly blanket this will help u get a good night sleep

To Cala's list I would only like to add gnaw bones, lots and lots of gnaw bones.


Other basic advices :
Make your home puppy-safe, if you know he can't gnaw on any electrical cords or the leg of a furniture that you're extra careful of, it isn't only safer, it's also more relaxing for both you and the puppy if you don't need to panic because he's gnawing on the leg to some ancestors chair/are at risk of being electrocuted.

Remember to take deep breaths and try to enjoy the puppy time.

Be positive and try to spend most of the time encouraging good behaviour and ignoring "bad" behaviour. But ignoring does in no way equal letting him continue doing it, ignoring only means that you don't have to acknowledge the unwanted behaviour by f.ex. saying "No". F.ex. if he's gnawing on a foot, just be silent and remove him and put him near some gnaw bones instead or just put your foot out of his reach and put down some gnaw bones in its place.
Save on your no's, it's very easy to find yourself spending a lot of time saying "No don't do this" and "No don't do that". Or getting the habit of saying "No" five times before you actually put a stop to what's going on. Before one realises the focus is on that the puppy should learn to stop what he's doing when you say "No" and not on showing him what he should be doing/is allowed to be doing. But after all, is it not more important that he learns to do the things that is allowed rather than maybe learning that he doesn't need to listen until the sixth "No"?
