Hello

We are off to the vets this afternoon, for our lameness work up!

We have about an hours trip to get there, its a bit wet and windy, so wondering if I should close the top door on the trailer, on the side that the boy is travelling on?

or travel him in a turn out rug? but wont want him getting too hot!

we normally only travel locally!

Leave plenty of time to travel, factoring in traffic and slower speeds given the weather.
I would probably close the top door behind the horse, but leave the other one open. You can also leave the little air vent open at the front.

Good luck for the work up. xx

ah cool, thank you! that's what I was thinking!

We don't have to be there for any particular time, they are starting tomorrow, so we can take it slow :)

Thanks for the luck :) Just hope he behaves himself as he can be a bit of a pain!

I would just travel him in a fleece or cooler, whatever you normally travel him in and close the door behind him but leave the other open. As you travel forwards, the rain should be pushed backwards off the trailer so unless there's a very strong wind driving the rain into the back of the trailer, he shouldn't get too wet.
Hope it goes well for you both.

Thanks guys, the rain had stopped when we left, so was all good!

Hes all tucked up in his stable for the night, just hope he's not too naughty as he's in on his own tonight :( seemed quite chilled when I left though!
