Some of you may know that in April i went to GRWE and came home with my lovely lurchertte Suzy.

I noticed on their website recently they were looking for volunteers to help out with walking etc. So i emailed the lovely homing officer there and offered my services (I am already a homechecker for them - which is something I really really love doing!), so Me Suzy and not forgetting Millie, are going back to the kennels suzy came from and we're going to play with their current kennel hounds.

Millie is going as 'official tester of skinny dog reaction to teeny tiny small dogs' - a role I am sure she will excell in, Suzy is going just to show off how happy she is and generally play!

I'm taking over some old collars I have acquired, and one of Suzy's old beds too, as I'm sure they always need stuff like that.

I'm just hoping i can control myself to not fall in love with any of them and come home with another!

Anyway, pointless post, but i'm really looking forward to a day full of skinny doglets (& Millie)

brill that you are able to help in this way.
i follow a rottie rescue on FB and they have a similar scheme whereby volunteer helpers exercise the dogs in care, the pics they post show the dogs really happy and enjoying themselves whilst waiting for new homes.

when i have cut down on my horses and my boy is a little older i would like to take on a rescue.

Sadly i'm not very close to the Kennels (its near Crewe and I'm in Leicestershire) otherwise I'd be going regulalrly, however I'm going to try and do once a month if i can.

I'd always veered away from rescues, but I have to say I'm a total convert, especially from GRWE - they've been fantastic.

Well done for making this commitment, even once a month will make a difference.

I have been tempted to foster but now we have the pup my time is pretty well taken up, plus I have friends dogs to stay and its always a worry with someones elses dog in your care.

Had a brilliant day, incredibly proud of my two girls, Millie was the perfect tester to see what reactions would be like to small dogs, and Suzy was used to gauge off lead socialability with them (all muzzled for safety). Met some fab dogs, saw two get new homes, and generally had a lively day with lots of doglets! Have two incredibly tired girls now though x
