I think this might be the first year Offchurch is running as a BE and it says that it will be a straightforward and flowing course but I know that sometimes the event descriptions on BE can be misleading so I wondered if anyone knows it and if it would be suitable as a confidence building course at BE Novice level?

Thanks in advance.

Think it will be their first novice but the other courses are flowing and nice. It makes use of the natural slope that the site is on, and some patches of old ridge and furrow type ground.

Dressage arenas are the other side of the roadway in which makes them nice and quiet

Lloyd hunt that designs the courses has said on facebook that it will be a nice course. I did my first ever ODE and have just this weekend done my first 2DE unaffiliated on his courses and they really are wonderful.

I'm fence judging on the Saturday.

It's a gorgeous venue too.

Look up Lands Eventing if you want to see more of his work.

There used to be a BE novice at Offchurch in the early 80s. The course then utilised the side of a hill plus ridge and furrow parkland as well as the river for a water crossing and a small, flat wooded section. The fences used to be straight forwards but the land meant that you had to have your horse well balanced. A slightly stronger test than say Aston which is all flat.
