Almost...!
We headed to Offchurch Bury yesterday for our 'return' to eventing following a confidence crisis on Kings part, and subsequently being unable to jump a cross pole.
Firstly the dressage, as you all know my season goal was to score sub 40 dressage, which we finally achieved at Solihull with a 37. I have recently moved to a yard with an arena which means I have now been able to put some time into practicing as well as doing some evening dressage locally. But all that being said... I think we had a very lenient judge as we scored a totally undeserved 31.8!
Onto the show jumping, usually a fairly reliable phase... Either clear or more likely 4 faults. Not today however as he was a horse possessed... Leapt his way round the collection ring and over any pole he could find before towing me round the arena, having a jolly good time but also taking 3 poles with him! Blithering idiot.
Then onto the XC the phase that has caused us so many issues over the past month, after previously being so reliable and so keen.
I needn't have worried as he absolutely FLEW and we loved every second. Not only that but we didn't get any time faults either, for the first time since we started competing this year.
I was so happy to have my horse back that I cried as we finished... I cannot wait for Elmwood at the end of the month, love him so much.
