My little border collie bitch has sprung a right one on me and turns out to be in pup! I've had her booked in for speying but as she is a working dog it was to be done when things are quieter at work so she can recover, namely 28th October! However, she has clearly beaten me to it and found a willing partner. How is a question I'd love answering because my dog is castrated and the only other dog she comes across is a work colleagues dog and as I kept her at home throughout her season the only explanantion I can reach is that she has still been 'just' fertile and he has grabbed his chance on her return to work!
I scanned her this morning and we have 4 pups all with strong heartbeats and very active! scanner reckons by meaasurements she'll be due around the 8th October. This little madam has shown no sign whatsoever until this week! she's been working sheep and jumping in and put of landrovers all day so it'll be a quieter life from now on for her.
Both her and the potential father are registered so they will be good working pups but it wasn't something I had planned. Needless to say she WILL be heading to the vet for that op as soon as she has finished her maternal duties.

Puppy anyone!?

Argh!

I had to be so super careful with mine until I got B neutered, they are brother and sister so it was my worst nightmare, little sister was a total tramp and would stand for him when she was in season, I had to watch them both like hawks and I never left them alone together, even if she was out of season, just in case!
