Liberty has suddenly decided he isn't a meek, pliable school boy, he is a TIGER! What is it that I do to horses?! Pratted about yesterday, but blamed it on fading light etc. Today lunged him for half an hour with side-reins, put him away, then rode him in jumping paddock in the 20x40 dressage arena I'd built him. Having grave doubts about our ability to remain in the arena on Sunday at Poplar, it took me an hour (after bringing him back into the school) to get a nice trot - canter - trot sequence.... His feed has been cut as of today but think I am facing the prospect of being eliminated in the dressage for the first time.......

Ooops!
Do we think Willie has been up to his tricks again and been telling Lib whats happening this weekend?
I think you should ride him to the event lol

Mine are all a bit manic I think the spring grass is starting! I am sure you'll be fine on Sunday - you may need 2 hrs warming up though!

It is that time of year unfortunately - although you probs won't be the only one adding a few airs above the ground to your basic PN type test.

Fully plan to wear him out between now and then, in addition to cutting feed. Hopefully 2 hr + journey there will take the sting out too! Contemplating using my GP for dressage, feel much safer in that than flat-panelled dressage saddle if all hell breaks loose ..... *insert green sick smiley*

Hee hee, I can't work out whether I'm jealous or relieved not to be trotting down the centre line on a wooly horse wth the wind up it's tail and (in my case) still plastered in mud, in mid March. I shall be thinking of you guys this weekend wrapped up in my coat, watching my son suffering for his sport instead.....

Oh dear!!!

I know exactly what you mean - was wondering whether Spider was fit enough for it. She had yesterday off and the a jump lesson tonight and she was like a rocket!!! Really sharp and strong!! So def fit enough!!

Loks like you will need a long dressage warm up trying to keep him under control!!! - would lunging 1st help?

Im going to lunge Mac b4 his dressage on sat

He he, I took my boy out at the weekend after a few months off. He was pretty "high" - suddenly blew up on the way to a pratice fence twice. Wouldnt go near it, kept shooting off, cantering sideways etc. Very not like him!! We didnt get a chance to jump it before going in the ring. We got a clear though
