Went to look at 5 welsh ponies today, was mainly going to see a little chestnut colt, got there and very nearly turned around and went home again

It was such a dump, wire and baler twine everywhere, nothing at all to eat in the field, 5 very poor little ponies. The owner showed me a 2 year old grey gelding, I went to say hello to him and he went to bite then kick me, she then chucked her daughter up on him and made him trot around the field, his legs nearly buckled when she got on

Then she showed me the chestnut, he was very sweet, lovely face and markings, a little cow hocked, but is only a yearling so will hopefully improve a bit. Had the nicest nature, and moved like a dream.

She had 2 more greys, one had sarcoids all over its face. The other was the scruffiest looking thing, with a big wormy belly, I'm afraid I fell for his face, and he is put together really nicely, so then I asked to see the passports, and they turned out to both be Hafdre ponies like Spooks

The little chestnut is actually Spooks half brother, so I'm afraid they both came home with me, she was saying how she was going to get her daughter to back the other two yearlings in the next few weeks if they didn't sell

So anyway, I now have two new additions, they ate every scrap of hay in the trailer on the way home poor things and are now tucking into another haynet in the field. No pics, as tbh I dont think I could put up pics of them in this state! Give me a few weeks and hopefully under all that scruff and wormy tummies there are two stunning little ponies waiting to come out

how much does she want for the others ? i need a companion asap for my daughters new pony as my others wont accept her. shes 19yrs and my cob nearly killed her so shes on her own now

How sad, but at least two have landed on their feet. Can I sugest you take photos now? Don't post them, but keep them for your own reference.

Fingers crossed, if they are anything like the rest of the Hafdres I have met then they will be gorgeous, and the grey especially. the chestnut just has the quietest nature and will make a lovely first pony, or lead rien if his hocks imporve a bit as he has a wonderful trot

can you pm me a number please . were the sarcroids really bad ? and were are they based thankyou !! good luck with your 2

How lovely!

You should post before and after pics in a few weeks when you can be proud of the great improvements I'm sure you'll make
