*sigh* Ever since I have made it known that I am leaving my yard a select few liveries have decided to insunuate some very childish behaviour, typically that would be found in a primary school playground

i.e going off in little gangs and attempting to intimidate myself and some other liveries that are also leaving.

WHY they feel the need to do this I do not know but I DO find it a shame as I had all intentions of leaving on very good terms with them all and hoping to stay in contact with them.

Sorry to post but needed to vent as I'm getting very fed up of 30+ year olds acting like children. (coming from someone over 10 yrs younger here!)

Livery yards and horsey establishments do seem to attract this type of behaviour don't they!?
It's such a shame 'cos we all work so hard to afford to keep our horses and a nasty atmosphere can really spoil the precious time you have with your horse

The yard I'm at now is fantastic, I chose it for the atmosphere and non-bitchiness. It costs a bit more each month there, but I reckon it's well worth it!
I hope your new yard is better and that you are happy there. Let us know how you get on, and in the mean time ignore the children! It sounds like you're the better person! xxx

It's getting beyond laughable now! I wouldn't mind but as I say I am 10yrs (if not more) younger than said "ringleader" and all I do is go down to do my horses and leave.

I refuse to confront said person as I do not want my name tarnished........although they will probaly continue to slate me after I have left.

It's quite sad really when you think about it

just do what i do - smile, say a cheery hello, and walk on by.....oh and if i dont wish to answer them i just say i have got a hearing infection, "sorry what did you say?" or act completley dumb - i am good at acting dumb! my oh says it comes naturally to me lol.

Seriously I hate the cliques and those that think they are better than everyone else and when the fall off it is due to the "course builder", a "loud noise" or something/anything not to do with them BUT if you have a fence down, or your horse spooks or god forbid you fall off - you are ridiculed, laughed at and taunted. One day, i will give them their answers, and boy you will see a huge mushroom cloud when all my little ducks are in a row.

Oh we have this too....Infact, I even had spiteful comments made about my job thrown into the mix.

Drives me up the wall, but I've decided I shall only speak to those that I WANT to, and I don't need to speak to the other just to seem polite. After all, the enjoyment is in my horses, not other people.

iv had so many issues with this on livery yards (thankfully we now keep ours at home!) & it always seems to be the YM or YO where iv been that have been worst. After issues began & before i left i tried to keep my head down, but it can be difficult. Your horses are there for your enjoyment & not be a chore. Im pretty sure I have a tarnished name where i used to live, but theres very little i can do about it. They took a dislike to me & they were going to make me out to be a b***h irrelivant of how i behaved.
Just keep your head down & remember you wont be there much longer!

it's funny isn't it htat the older they are the more childish they can be? theres a few at our yard who are in disbute with each other and stand snipping and bitching about each other to whoever is pinned in the barn trying to innocently do hay nets, or stuck in their stable mucking out (even though I was pretending very hard to be invisible!!!) muchous hugs to you, chin up soon you'll be rid of them!!! x

Thats one thing i DO like about the yard we are on, we were all told from before we went that this sort of thing was not going to happen, if you do, your out! Its worked. We tend to get on anyway.
