one of my customers gone ahead and purchased pony after failing a vetting on lameness after flexion and trotting on hard surface, vet advised xray front feet as they were odd, unfortunatley i didnt go to look at the pony as working as probably would have noticed the odd feet. Im hoping she stays sound, they knocked them down on price, pony is 12. Any thoughts!!??

That your customer is a bit silly?
Will they get xrays done? Will they have any comeback if there is a serious problem? Prob not

Nope I would not have brought this pony after a failed vetting....me thinks there will be alot of heartache keeping this pony sound....I once went to see a lovely mare who would have been perfect for me,she had a club foot.....so sadly on my friends advice did not even go for a vetting.....was a shame as she was perfect.....so I could be wrong, but a failed vetting on that.....would be a 'No' for me!

one of my ex liveries did this....horse had a 5 star vetting which it passed with notations on feet and front legs condition etc etc

Apparenmtly my face was a picture when it came off the lorry, its knees were over the foot. in 6 months she only rode twice and then it was decided that it would be no longer beneficial to keep shelling out money on him when she isnt getting something back. he went into retirement at cost of course..

its all a case of buyer beware!!

No I wouldn't have brought the pony. However upsetting it would have been at the time it a long time to be sorting out a lame pony! I wouldn't have bothered having a vetting if I wasn't going to listen to the advice of the Vet. I do hope all goes ok and we are proved wrong!

Hmm, unwise, especially as the pony is heading into its teens, so the situation could potentially go downhill from here on in. As hard as it is to tell a child (I'm assuming child as it's a pony, but not necessarily, I know) that you won't be buying the pony they have fallen for, it's even more disappointing when you get it home and find you can't do any of the things you bought a pony to do!
