As some of you may know I've been having a few problems with my new horse. Thought they were just teething problems, but went to see a criollo specialist yesterday who says it could purely be a matter of the wrong bit - so I am going to try a new one. They also said by the look of him he is not 10, as I was led to believe (says on his passport and vet checked) but more likely to be 15!!! And apparently the older they get, the more dominant and harder to handle. So that explains a lot...Grrr!!!

re: age... we had something similar with our old horse - he was sold as 13 - vet checked and on passport - but the old owner forwarded on some old paperwork many months later and it turned out he was 15 when we bought him...

To be fair though - aging horses accurately is very difficult...
