Oh, for goodness sakes, Prelim 13.

Hi,

I always used to just buy test of dressage diagrams, but that isn't working for me. Last test, I thought it was simply a glitch, but I have another comp tomorrow, and still can't get on.

I have ordered a complete new laminated set, to be delivered tomorrow on one day delivery, yay! The issue is, I have a Prelim 13 test at 11.30... tomorrow!

I have an old P13, 2006, but can see it has been revised in 2016. I have looked at P13, 2016 on youtube, but can't see a difference.

So, my question is (in case the new ones don't arrive until after my test), what is the revision? As the ridden tests look the same! I'm guessing it will be some itty bitty change. I do wish they wouldn't do that!

I want it to go well as I am trying my new super-expensive girth, and want to see if we can bust through the 70% barrier!

It's just the way that the collectives are separated out. No difference to the actual movements that you ride. Hope your comp goes well!

Thank you, if it is just the collectives that have changed, then that would account for why I can't see a difference!

I am usually annoyed when people don't just buy the test, but I did try to buy on DD and have ordered a whole new pack, arriving tomorrow, that will sort the matter out for a few years!

Thank you. HHO wins the day yet again!

If you download the test pro BD app you get some free credits. Enough to see one test. I’ve just signed up to design my freestyle floor plan, but if you are a visual person the diagram function is good.

Thank you, I think I have learned today's one from my old sheets (now I know it is just collectives that have changed) and have ordered a complete new set of laminated ones in a folder for next time. Useful to know if I want to design a floorplan though!

Update: Sadly, I don't think that the functionality is there yet for it to be good for doing your freestyle floorplan. I had hoped that it would record and play back, but it doesn't do that, nor can it save what you do. So at the moment it really is a 'run through' which isn't what I had hoped for. The display of the set tests and functionality to play them back is good though - I'm undecided on whether the cost is justifiable without better freestyle functionality (but I do now have a few paper copies that are out of date). On the blurb they say they are developing the freestyle functionality. Fingers crossed as I need all the help I can get!

Thank you all.

I managed to miss the rain, however, just before the first canter someone got a horse off their lorry who was obviously bonded with one still on the lorry. Much screaming ensued, right next to the ring. H managed really well, super first canter, yay, despite screaming from both horses. Then, for FWLR, the one walking next to the arena became so excited it started the snort telegraph system, dragon snorting. FWLR was then a bit giraffe like, and canter depart right was a little more spicy than I intended, then he remembered and broke to trot, before settling to canter. His head never really came back down though, not that I blame him as the horses were still screaming back and forth over his head (as in he was between them!).

So, I am really pleased with him, as apart from a more energetic canter depart than I expected and a break, with some tension, he was on the ball and obedient. It was under great duress for a baby too. We went into the collecting ring after and had a canter on each rein, normal service was fully restored.

He was being 100% genuine, I went into his stable afterwards and played the video, and again he was OK with whinnying, but made like a 19hh statue for the dragon snorting. Maybe I need to regularly play it to him until he realises it is nothing for him to need to attend to. I can see me hacking out, playing dragon snorts left, right and centre ?

I think he will still score well. It was our first time out in the new Wow girth and he was softer...

Just our luck, we were out SJ on Sunday when they blew up the local power station between fence 10 and fence 11! Then, yesterday, he nearly had his nose cut off on the main road by a lorry with drawbar trailer, bouncing and cutting in.

Fortunately, he is of a fairly stable temperament and tends to live and let live.

Well Done! He’s lovely. If you ever give up I’ll have him!!! ??

Ha, dare I say it? I had a "silly offer" on him earlier this year. I mean, it sounded silly, but he is still here so obviously it wasn't enough. He is lovely as he is giving this older rider the credence of bringing on a youngster, but he is soo kind and... laid back is the polite way to put it I think LOL, that it is being an absolute pleasure. That is his secret weapon. That and the fact that his paces are actually very good and correct. He is slow burner that is for sure, perfect for a windy middle aged has-been! So much so that I don't even feel windy now.

Not bad for a bought unseen, off video, from Ireland horse!
