and the flood is about to hit. All horse came in two by two to escape.

Just got all the yard horses in as the forecast is torrential overnight. About 2 inches in 12 hours coming down. We have had horrendous monsoon like rain today- then sunshine. The arena is so wet we are looking at holding the Devon diving championships - and the Brecon bog snorkling championships can now take place in our fields.

Roll on winter - it surely can't be wetter.

Have just dug out some cosier rugs for my lot, and put the garden furniture away for the winter.....

Lucky you got the garden furniture away otherwise it would have floated off into the distance. Mine are all in snug - no rugs but eating piles of hay, checking the forecast it looks like we will keep them in tomorrow too. They all wanted to come in and they are all used to living out. Just think the relentless weather has got to them all. even my equine hippo has had enough and he normally delights in wet muddy weather

My hippo is standing eating in the middle of the field completely oblivious to the rain! Got to laugh, she just doesnt care!

Mine are all in too (here on edge of Exmoor). Arab is sharing a stable with Exmoor colt, the other Big Boy is in regal solitary splendour in the other stable and they are all munching hay and looking smug. The downpour you had, Bosworth, we had it here too. I spent a frantic half hour sweeping water away from the back door.

I'm dreading the bad weather later tonight and tomorrow. I went into Dulverton today and the Barle river was already reaching critical point.

Ziggy, poor you.....wet poo weighs three times as much!!

Scotsmare, IIRC you are in Aberdeenshire. That appears to be the only part of the country that has escaped. I went up to visit my 4yo at bootcamp and couldn't believe how dry the fields were.

Who'd have thought that weather would be the reason I'd regret leaving Aberdeen
