Scooped another load of £40 Feed into skinny Arabs feed bowls tonight, and I cried inside.
No matter what I do the pony does not gain a decent amount of weight. So screw you bony pony! Go enjoy your big feed and ample haynet with your warm bedding whilst I cry at my bank statements.
*cries*

Silly pony haha, it's been 8 years now of trying. Vet checks her often and says she's healthy just a bit bony. Guess she's not gonna be a prize meat pony too soon, and I can't threaten with the meat man...since he wouldn't get mich off her :D

Haven slobber mash! Put weigh on my 36 year old pony & made my 5 year old fill out without livening him up. I've used blue chip, top spec etc added to feed and this is the only feed that's worked. Approx £12 per bag but you soak it and it lasts for ages!

Shes on topspec veteran, top spec lite chop and speedi beet. Ad lib wet hay(not soaked) and grass. She's 23 and has been very lean from being a baby. The topspec got some more weight on her, hip bones aren't as obvious anymore.

Equibeet do an unmollassed version so that costs about a third less than speedibeet. I would swop the lite chop to redigrass and throw in some barley rings.

What you are feeding is a fat horse diet.

You didn't say that!

I would still stop the lite chop as that is only hay & straw. Readigrass & unmollassed equibeet would cut the feed bill in half.

I know sorry! It was more a joke thread since I got sent my bank statement today and it all seems to go on her feed :D. Welshie and gelding get sod all compaired!

Give Debbie at Thunderbrooks a ring, her basemix bran and oats are amazing for weight, give all the cals and minerals they need in a small feed.

Horses can only process a tiny amount at a time so if you feed a massive bucket 2/3rds of it wil just get pushed straight through to the hind gut and be of no use to them at all so is wasted money......
