i dont know what i must sound like to OH going on about my 4 year old horse's progress schooling but his eyes are starting to glaze over lol

so to save him some more pain i'll chat to you lot

ive only in the last couple of weeks started doing flatwork with him, since i backed him ive been schooling him on hacks to teach him the basics and get him thinking forwards, and hes very responsive, well balanced, and a joy to ride

now we're doing actual flatwork im SO happy with him, he is trying really hard and is really concentrating on his work and seems to be enjoying himself (and tbh i think he's going to be a really nice horse)

sorry if anyones eyes just glazed over with my my-horse-is-wonderful chatter, i apologise (but he is

Lol, my OH is really good with the horses and has learned to show many interesting faces but I must admit I do see him rolling his eyes occasionally when I go on about how well behaved the yearling was for the farrier or something similar.
Mind you I do the same for his clay shooting!

lol, yes my OH sometimes tries to humour me with' interested face'

he's not totally heartless though, he came for a hack with me last weekend, and he does like 'the kids' as he calls them

he cant see why im excited about 'going round in circles' though, lol

Well done you, 50 time ovr to keep you going. My OH could not care less, and even tells me to ring the meat lorry. Soo glad I do not listen to him:). May be tell him horses have engines, and then get his attention

Well done to you and your horsey.
It sounds like you have done the hard bit and now are ready to enjoy all if the fun bits, go on have fun and tell us all about it.
I too have a 4yr old that jumped his first fillers yesterday i have no OH and my 2 dogs really did not care at all that i was so chuffed when i got home.

Well done!!

I can totally understand as I'm the same at the mo! Just so chuffed to be back on my man after a year off.

Other folks don't understand when your having a bit of success and 'light at the end of the tunnel' moments. There is no better feeling.

My yard owner keeps telling me never to ride my boy ever again!!

Keep up the good work and enjoy every moment. Only you and your horse understand and enjoy each successful day!

the great thing about the horse is theres been no hard work with him so its not light at the end of the tunnel
he;s been an absolute star from the first moment i sat on him and never complained once about anything

he was a present from my OH when he was 2 and OH is wishing hed kept him, but hes only 16 hands and mostly tb so too small and light for OH anyway, thank god or hed be nicking him!
and well done on getting back on your boy ShaznTaz
congrats about the fillers tree
