I've hit a wall -.-

Molly has improved her flatwork NO end, its lovely but I feel my jumping is like 1/2 step forward 3 steps backwards.

She just runs out 1/3 of the time and when she does jump them she literally gallops and I have no control.

Its not just jumps, its poles , logs, cavaletti styles blocks, you know, things she should walk over.

I feel ridiculous ,because shes turned me from a rider on the school team, easily clearing 2ft6 on any horse , to someone nervous trotting up to a trotting pole.
And I feel so unable and useless.

I know its possibly half my tension, but I try to relax and get a good rhythm and she takes total advantage.

Shes having a saddle fit soon but I doubt its that as it was checked recently and was fine.

I've found an ideal new loan horse but it'll mean finding a new yard as not enough grazing and then I'll have to face the wrath of the owner [shes on full loan] and I .. feel..I owe her, you know? She kind of saved me from myself, it sounds crazy but she gave me something to live for.

Shes the SWEETEST pony on the ground and would be a good dressage pony.
I'm just so sick of wanting to cry every weekend when I jump and being unable to trot a freaking 1ft3 cross.

Do you think I need to accept shes never be a jumper, and search for a RC horse/ring owner of the ideal gelding I found?Shes rather cobby....

I have a dutch gag and a martingale in my tack room ,after a well respected trainer said to me 'FGS ,put that horse in something stronger, otherwise you'll end up hurt ' but I haven't tried it - Worth it? I dont want to ruin her mouth.

I also have a lesson on the 27th with my trainer ..Ima chat with her [and probably break down and cry -.-] .
<sighs>.
Thanks.
MM x

It sounds as though you shouldn't be even trying to jump her without your trainer there at the moment. Try and just enjoy her out hacking etc and have a good chat with them... Don't expect everything to come together like clockwork. Its always one step forward two steps back with horses - sometimes three steps back!
