Prelim 7 is lovely test I used to do that one first when I took my youngsters out for the first time. The canter is really easy as being on the circle sets it up for you. Good luck, just smile regardless and enjoy!

To all of you who are scared, not just George's mum!

Just think of dressage a a posh word for schooling! Aim for accuracy at prelim. Make sure you look up down the centre line and go nice and straight. Try to do things in the right place but dont worry about it if things happen a bit late. You can pick up so many marks at prelim for accurate riding and the judges dont expect the horse to be perfectly engaged etc Keep smiling and looking up, and whatever you do dont stop halfway through and get off to pick up your whip that you dropped earlier!!!

Oh another thing. When you are on a lively horse it often helps if you are in an arena with high fences!

At least you wont get disqualified for leaving the arena...Unless it was born to Showjump!

Have a good time and like I said, just think of it as a posh word for schooling!!

Thanks... my problem with Blue is that he goes really hollow in the trot-canter transistion and its MY fault, i know this because my instructor can do trot-canter on him and he stays lovely and round.

Its because i tip forward into it but can't help myself!

So i need to think straight lines, and accuracy to markers?

Are you supposed to have a whip? I don't tend to carry one with Blue for flatwork?
