Shantia,
My new mare (the appy x welsh d) who would apparently kill you as soon as look at you has been with me now for about 3 months, a lot of groundwork and chill out time later and she was ridden tonight for the first time in 2 years!!!
No bucking, or any funny business, she went on the lunge under saddle with stirrups swinging to see what she did, then when we were sure all was good my friend got on her back asked for walk then a little bit of trot then a pat rider got off and we popped her back in the field with her chums where she promptly rolled then came back up to us for a kiss! Tonight was so impromptu, it just felt right. to come to me with the label of a horse that would kill you as soon as look at you, who without me agreeing to take her on was going to potters has turned a corner since she came away from her old home and so far seems to only be looking forward!
Everything that has been done with her has been a good experience (feet, teeth, vet, ground work) and now to see her with someone on her back and no resistance only enjoyment, took my breath away with pride. Sorry no photo of her being ridden (phone was in the car and I didn't want to leave the school) But here is one of her...
I AM SO PROUD!!!
I know photo overload!!
