Oh no!! They've started already!

Well here in Tuscany, the summer is certainly here!! Loads of horse flies  my two year old had a paddy fit because one was under his belly bless him..thought I had an early grave coming! :o It's also about 35degrees+! :p time to get the ice lollies and watermelon out- summer has come early! ;) xx

Any horse flies brave enough to venture into Derbyshire will be getting blown away by the gale force winds! At least I'm not spending money on fly spray at the moment.

One thing that will keep horse flies away is blue Comfort. I found this out by chance when I had soaked a sweater in Comfort to try and regain some of its shape after shrinking and I wore it riding. The horse flies veered away from me so I diluted it down about 50/50 and swabbed it over the horse before riding. Worked well for about an hour or so.

We've already been under attack from the tafani for a few weeks, just feel sorry for our poor foaly, they are nearly bigger than her! (anyone who doesn't know these evil creatures check out wiki for pics http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabanidae)

But swimming pool, gelato & sunshine really does make Tuscany worth it in the end :)
