Setting up the trade stand today and I posted yesterday how the credit card machine had died (now revived *a bit* so thats good).

Just been out to do a final check on the horses before getting the van and start loading and I think old mare has gone down with laminitus

Shes never had it before but the grass has suddenly shot up after that rain. She was fine yesterday AAAAGH!

I've put her in the school so she's off the grass

So am waiting for the vet to call back (how to fit that into the already tight schedule? ). They dont think they can come till 3.30 so will probably have to get a friend to meet them as I just cant wait that long to set off. Oh I could cry. So hoping its something else

Pointless post, but v v v v stressed and needed to unload. Wish the vet would call back! :(

Let's just hope that you are getting all your bad luck out of the way now and Burghley turns out to be a massive success for you - and the whole thing runs like a dream!

I hope that your old girl is fine. They really do keep us on our toes, don't they???

Best of luck with it all!

Oh no! You have my sympathy! It is so stressful on set up day, DH has been tearing what little hair he has left out about burghley.

But don't worry too much, not sure how far you are from burghley but the first year we went we had various hold ups and were still setting up at gone seven on the wednesday and finished off on the thursday morning. Not ideal but can be done! A few people don't set up until Thursday morning, and you can get your car/van on pretty early I think. We will finish setting up on the morning as we have to do two car loads.

Fingers crossed your horse is ok and that you get set up before the punters start rolling in on thrusday morning! Hopefully it will be a successful show for you after the stress!

Thanks for the sympathy - the vet is coming in about 30 minutes so I'm going to be able to see them. Then got to collect van, load and go....leaving copious instructions as to old mares management while I'm away. Oh please dont let it be lammi (but I think it s0dding is)

We might well have to complete the set-up tomorrow morning I think

ETA My mum's just phoned (aged 88) and said she's not feeling very well (dizzy and light headed), so now onto neighbour re taking her to the doctor....(cant do it myself as she's 300 miles away, before you think I'm utterly heartless :D )

Doesn't it make you want to stick your head in the sand til it all goes away???? Poor you. Hope mare and mum are ok, and none of it's serious, and hope Burghley is a huge success for you

xxxxxxxx
