I took Ronnie over to a local instructor's field, with a friend and her horse who have been there before. He's very sharp at the moment and he felt ok but tense when we arrived. So off we go to warm up in open order, and Ronnie just went nuts - I don't know what happened but it felt like he went into big bucking leaping bolting mode and I went out the side door, landed on my face and knees. OUCH. Was winded and really hurt my left knee, right knee too but not so bad, and my right shoulder/back area is agony! He then galloped around this hilly field for about 5 minutes, he did look quite impressive bless him.
The instructor and my friend were brilliant, really calm and patient and once I'd got my breath back I got on and we worked the two horses together to get Ronnie's confidence up (and mine!!!), and by the end of the lesson we were doing jumps around all the hills and he was brilliant. White all over from sweat though
So I'm now in agony, waiting for water to heat up so I can have bath, with cold packs on each knee and twisted sideways as my back/shoulder hurts so much, and it still flipping hurts to breathe.
And I've got to go back there next Saturday in a bigger group to do it all again
I landed on my head but the ground was soft - hat will be ok won't it? It seems ok...
Shortbread fingers and a slurp of coke for anyone getting this far...
ETA: Too many wrong words in there, think I've now corrected them. Bump to my head not done me any good, clearly.
