Today is the 1st day I've not ridden when I really should... The hoss gets days off when I'm at work (3 days a week) but whenever I'm not at work we get busy. I woke up in a stonker of a mood and just couldn't be bothered! But now I'm feeling guilty as I'm at work tomorrow and will struggle to ride til Sunday... we've got our 1st event in April and we've barely jumped a cross pole- my motivation is slacking. Help me motivate myself PLEASE and ease my guilt at being a lazy a***e....

If you're not in the mood to ride then don't beat yourself up about it - it's a hobby remember!! If you're in a bad mood then I don't think it leaves you in the right frame of mind anyway.
Don't stress, ride when you enjoy it. Pushing yourself and feeling guilty will only put you off anyway!

Sensible words xx

dont beat yourself up! i would sort out a fitness programme, working towards that first event. so get the event date, work your canter and fast work back, make sure you have done the road work miles, then you have a plan. if a bad day maybe 20 mins lunging, if pee ing down with rain maybe a day off or on the walker or lunge. set your end goal and you will rise to the challenge. with a couple of parties on the way .. maybe a couple of dressage tests and a couple of clear round classes and a xc schooling round, and maybe a fun ride for the milage,. Good luck, enjoy your season.

I am so glad I ma not the only one, I have got back from work completely shattered on a night this week and i haven't felt like riding at all, went to see my boy tonight and he still had 4 legs and was a lovely as ever.

I felt really guilty too but I figure if i am tired like that i shouldn't ride anyway.
