Think I'm going to have problems on Sunday if one of a few Welshie's win the M&M class. Three of them entered have typical Welsh tongue-twister names (at least they are for me, a born and bred Londoner, to get to grips with), so whilst I hope they do very well, how on earth am I going to pronounce their name over the PA system if they win! Any helpful tips on Welsh pronunciation would be very helpful, otherwise I'll grab the owners beforehand and ask them to explain how the name is said. Do other show organisers dread reading them out when they see the entries come in? By the way, if you do intend coming to the AHT - suggest you phone first before turning up on the day just in case the class is full, some already are.

I was hoping someone might offer this service - thanks. I will get them out of the entry folder tomorrow and PM them through to you. Providing I know how to say them before Sunday - that would be great. Thanks again

We show Welshies. We generally know we're being called when the tannoy says "can Mrs Naturally and the horse with the unpronouncable name please go to ring 1." Its happened so much its just funny

Well thanks to offers here above, hopefully I might just be able to read their names out, if not, I'll have to make a joke of it like you've had read out - poor you - it's not fair is it? Mnd you, I've also got a French named horse and Arabic named horses (thankfully Darley contacts can help me out with all those). Sounds like the United Nations is coming!

My older Welsh mare's name is not bad to pronounce. Penycoed Charm but at a local show recently they called my youngsters name but got it sooo wrong. The guy struggled bless him I only knew it was us cos he said my name 1st. lol
I think Ewyn Fioled is quite mild for a welsh name... lol

no commentators seem to be able to say my welshie's names - i even write them out phonetically but they dont seem to be able to read that either!
