Just because I have a friend hunting for this exact same thing down south and she can't find anything similar (unless it has something seriously wrong with it or is an ex racer) for less than £5k... It says it's a trade advertiser, anyone had any dealings with them? Because if not, what a cute pony!

No, not at all. Would say it's priced about right. It's a happy hacker that's done no school work or been out anywhere. Not worth anything near £5k.

There are horses down south better than that for less than £5k!

Strange one, the price is a bit low but I also think 5 yo being advertised as an 'ideal first horse' flags that they may be either inexperienced (which doesn't seem likely considering they are trade) or there is something wrong.

Worth ringing and asking why the low price?

Bloody hell - our ex racer is 10 times nicer than that!!! Would not pay that much money for that horse, never mind 5k!!

You would be suprised!!! She found two that sounded about right, one for £4k, one for £4.5k, the first the owner admitted had a bad back, the second one "Oh, he wouldn't pass a vetting..."

She's lookin for a gelding, 15.1hh - 16.2hh, nice natured, not for a novice but should be a novice ride, doesn't need to have done anything, snaffle mouthed, to make RC allrounder, 5 - 8 years old, not a cob... Looks/breeding not particularily important... Been months and apart from a couple of failed vettings, she hasn't had any luck so far!!

I think the second is over-priced aswell.
The market is awful atm, if people found out how much we paid for my current one compared to what he was worth in the summer they would be shocked.

For £2,500 I would expect a horse to have a bit more mileage and bit more potential then a happy hacker.
I also think the second one looks immature and I would argue that he looks younger then 6.

I bought a 15.2 ISH in Oct 5 yr old for £3500.... Safe but green.

look at clipcloptraders, southgate farm and equine agents (East sussex) or Vik Hibberd (near Petersfield, always advertising on nfed). All excellent reputations and always have those sort of horses in.

The first one looks a bit odd to me as looks very small under that rider but ad says is 15.1 so girl must be large?

So would I!!! So would this woman actually, she's had some real gems, and never paid more than £2500, but says there's nothing about! Seriously, look on the sales websites, she's right!

Galaxy I'm afraid Peterfield and East Sussex are too far! She's looking to travel 2 hours max from Devon...
